Apple teased the announcement with a cool AR demo “Easter egg”

Apple announced that on September 14 at 10am Pacific Time., it would hold the long speculated, much anticipated, highly awaited annual September product reveal event. Invites were sent out for its annual launch, which many believe is going to be the day the company will unveil new products, such as the iPhone 13

If the next iPhone is revealed, it is also likely Apple will share the release or release date for iOS 15, there is already the Public Beta 8 version available.

Although there has been no confirmation on exactly what will be announced at the event, some have speculated, based on the invite, there could be upgrades to photography, especially night mode. Other projects in progress could make an appearance, including, the next generation Apple Watch Series 7 or its newest version of AirPods.

Apple’s SVP Marketing head, Greg Joswiak tweeted a video showing the AR Easter egg announcing the event to be streamed on Apple’s website. Since the start of the pandemic, the company has held virtual-only events. A cool little Easter egg, if you view the event website , using an iPhone or iPad, you can tap on the Apple logo to open up the AR viewers and see the 3D logo move around in the world to whatever is in the background of your camera.

Above: short video introducing our iphone photography awards series

In this, the Sixth Article in a Series Featuring all the Winners, See Photos of the Top Three Awards for the Categories: News / Events and Floral

Once again, these photos show the dynamic advantages of a small, light, powerful camera in your pocket. Particularly for News / Events where “right time / right place” is essential, but even floral involves a process where unique and natural occurrences must be seen, and captured, at a precise time and place. And you don’t have to wait for the “iPhone 14xs” to produce high quality images, in fact, some of the winners used an iPhone 6s, such as Lianyu Lu, or 7, like Silveira, not necessarily iPhone 8 or XS Max.

In all the winning photos, in every category, it is the emotion and the beauty that has the power to transport the viewer into another world. Don’t overlook the “honorable mentions” either. The two mosaic galleries below show how high the competitive artistry was and how difficult it must have been to choose.

”This photo was taken at the Lantern Festival in Buzhai Town. It is the tradition of this small southern town to hold a dragon dance performance for Lantern Festival that dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It is a spectacular scene with the fire dragon being lifted by more than 30 adults while it dances and fireworks are set off from its body.  Thousands of people came to watch the event and to pray for their family to be safe and healthy for the New Year.”

”This photo was taken in an abandoned house in Aleppo, Syria. In the Syrian civil war, almost the entire city of Aleppo became a ruin of war and there was hardly a building left intact. In January 2018, I walked into many rooms in the ruins. I found that lives were abruptly stopped by the war, and many rooms still retained the pre-war look.”

”I’ve taken quite a few photos of this agave plant, which is tucked away in the corner of a courtyard in downtown Santa Cruz, and every time I walk by it, I take another. The close-up view, especially in black & white, seems to draw out a part of the agave’s beauty that’s easy to miss in real life when it’s surrounded by flowers and sidewalks and benches.”

Apple Spruces Up Old Favorites

Performance Upgrades Galore Released Ahead of Streaming TV Launch

Updated AirPods are out – AirPods 2 is the catchy name for this iteration. They’re now powered by an Apple designed H1 chip. This chip was designed specifically for the new AirPods. The H1 is built to deliver higher performance, faster connect times, and more talk time. And, the new AirPods will be available with a wireless charging case (which also works with older AirPod models).

Shortly after the AirPod 2s were announced, new versions of the iMac All-in-one desktop computer also hit the street. As shown in the graphic below, 5 new variants, two 21.5 inch and three 27 inch Macs, each with slightly different feature upgrades are now available. The computers also have a new set of chips that will deliver twice the graphical and computational power.

All five models have intel processors and AMD Radeon Pro GPU’s. Users can expect to see up to 50 percent improved performance working with Photoshop projects, or the ability to create up to two times the amount of virtual instruments in Logic Pro X, or view up to 16 simultaneous multi-cam streams compared to the previous seven in Final Cut Pro X.

The lower end models keep their 4K Retina display. The bigger models feature the usual 5K screen.  The computers range from $1300-$5000+ depending on size, specs and optional upgrades.

Apple hasn’t changed the iMac‘s iconic aluminum chassis or glass screen. They’ll have the same screen sizes and resolution, same brightness and wide (P3) color gamut, and same ports (two Thunderbolt USB-C, four USB 3, SDXC, Gigabit Ethernet, and headphone jack).

iPad Air is back and iPad mini too, with pencil. Both with a spec bump. Although the items are not “financially important” in terms of Apple’s overall bottom line, they serve as introductory Apple products. Popular gift items that can acclimate new users into Apple culture.

These new versions of established products are welcome news as the specs and value have improved.

Hardcore aficionados however, will be anticipating major upgrade news, such as the refreshed Mac Pro (not upgraded since 2013!) or iPhone 11, possibly in June and October, respectively.
